2008 Trips

Fiften people were planning to go on a work trip on April 12-19, 2008. This trip was unfortunately postponed a few days before we were scheduled to leave due to food riots and the threat of other violence in Haiti. We are currently in the process of rescheduling the trip, and are considering taking two separate trips (June 21-28 and November 8-15).  A sample week for this mission trip looks like this:

  • Saturday – Travel and arrive in Haiti. Unpack and sort through donations.
  • Sunday – Church and a visit to the beach with Compassion children
  • Monday – Work day
  • Tuesday – Work day and Hospital visitation
  • Wednesday – Work day and site see
  • Thursday – Work day and Orphanage visitation
  • Friday - Work day and site see
  • Saturday - Travel back home

Each day also consists of morning and evening devotions, personal reflection time, and community time. We stay at a lovely guesthouse where we eat wonderful Haitian meals and enjoy the company of our Haitian friends.

The cost for a week-long mission trip is around $1,100 (per person) and this includes travel, housing, and transportation while in Haiti, extra insurance while in Haiti, most meals, and any extra trip-related expenses. Each group member is responsible for the entire cost of their trip.

If you are interested in going on this mission trip please contact us (note: we begin group meetings 3 months before a typical trip, so let us know soon if you are interested in an upcoming trip).

If you are interested in going on a mission trip with the Haiti Mission Project, but cannot go when we are scheduled, please contact us so we can set up a specialized Haiti Mission Trip for your group.
